Approximately half of UK employers have published an action plan to tackle problems in managing their Gender Pay Gap (GPG). If your company is not one of them, this issue will need to be addressed in the near future.
In July, the Government Equalities Office published:
- A roadmap for change, which set out eight key drivers of inequality and what might be done about them; and
- A summary of reported data for 2018/19, which indicated some reduction in the GPG but noted accuracy in reporting data may still be a problem.
The Government is actively reviewing the present reporting metrics with a view to updating the system, and will be consulting on changes by 2021.
